A visit by eight bikers from the Netherlands - 22 May 2011
In April a motorcycle group in the Netherlands looked up our website on the internet and sent an email which read:
In the month of May, on Sunday 22 of May, we visit Ireland with a copple of motorfriends, we come from the Netherlands. We are with 8 person and 5 motorbikes. We want to visit a church service and we found this church. Wath is the time of starting the service?
So on the Lord's Day 22nd May they came and worshiped with us and had lunch. After they returned home Atie and Bert Timmerman send us this message on behalf of the group:
On Sunday morning the 22th of May we were hearty welcome in the in Cloughmills Reformed Presbyterian Church. As we arrived we had to take of our motorbike clothes and that was done in the disabled toilet and that was a perfect place to do that.
The service was good and we could follow and understand the pastor. The liturgy you have is almost the same as we have in the Netherlands in our situation. Singing without a church organ was something new. The songs did not always have the same melody. But it was still good to sing.
After the service we spook with a lot of the visitors and the was very pleasant, open and honest!.
In these contacts you encounter and feel that we howerev we speak a differenet language that in God we speak the same language. That is the factor that brings us together!
We were very surprised about the meal you had organised and we it was formidable.
After the meal we had to see good-by and we invited that you (all of the brothers and sisters in the church) are welcome when you come to the Netherlands one day some time.
Still we say thank you for everything and God Bless you all.
